Treating Hyperhidrosis

Excess sweating is clinically known as Hyperhidrosis and can be easily treated. A half hour session is all that is needed for a series of injections which typically last for 4 to 8 months.

During a session we will discuss the pros and cons of the treatment to help you decide if it is the right choice for you. The treatment involves a number of injections under each arm. You are advised to refrain from any form of exercise or massage, and avoid alcohol for 24 hours following a treatment. It may take up to 2 weeks for the treatment to take affect.

What causes Hyperhidrosis?

Sweating is a natural function of our body and it helps to cool us down. When a body’s cooling function leans towards being hyperactive it can produce too much sweat which is the condition called hyperhidrosis.

More severe cases of excessive sweating can be an indication of conditions such as diabetes, infections, or thyroid issues. It would worth consulting your doctor if you have concerns with these potential health issues.

What parts of the body can be treated for Hyperhidrosis?

Whilst most of our skin can sweat the most prevalent region is underarms, hair line and our hands.

How does the treatment work?

With underarm treatments we inject Botox to prevent the sweat glands from working. It may take two weeks until the Botox takes full effect.

When working with hair line sweating we use a treatment, also known as a Blotox, which involves a number of injections along the hair line. This stops any sweat from ruining your hair
